He is a proven strategist and the former Commanding General of United States Army South. Responsible for multi-national operations throughout the western hemisphere (31 Countries and 12 Territories). During his time in the Pentagon, serving on the Joint Staff (National Military Command Center), he worked closely with the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and White House responding to national security crisis and global issues around the world.

Major General (Ret.) Thigpen
William Thigpen is an accomplished senior executive and former Major General in the U.S. Army, with decades of leadership experience in front-line operations, major staff roles, and strategic management. His career has been defined by his ability to solve complex challenges through innovative, analytics-based approaches and a deep understanding of performance metrics. He excels in creating and executing forward-thinking strategies while building resilient, high-performing teams grounded in strong ethical principles. His final assignment in the United States Army was Commanding General of United States Army South (2021-2024). Responsible for maintaining national security relationships with 31 countries and 12 territories across Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.While serving in the Pentagon as the Deputy Director for Operations (2019-2021), performed dual roles, as the Senior Defense Official reporting to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of Defense for daily global operations, and executing the strategic deterrence portfolio assigned to the National Military Command Center, Led a team of top-tier senior officers in daily coordination and briefings with White House staff on world-wide Department of Defense operations.
